Beerfest 2, the long-awaited sequel to Broken Lizard’s Beerfest, is still alive. Released in 2006, Beerfest was created by the comedy team Broken Lizard and tells the story of an exclusive competition centered around beer games.
The film concludes with a hint at a follow-up called Potfest, but since then, the project has been stuck in development limbo, leaving fans uncertain if the Potfest Beerfest sequel will ever come to fruition.
Beerfest 2023
However, there is still reason for optimism, as Jay Chandrasekhar, a member of Broken Lizard, recently provided an encouraging update on the film, Beerfest 2023 Movie, in an interview with Nerdtropolis.
He reveals that discussions are underway with Warner Bros., who own the rights to Potfest and must grant approval for the project. With the film’s fate now in the studio’s hands, the Broken Lizard team can only remain hopeful that Potfest will become a reality.
Chandrasekhar, the director, has previously hinted about a sequel called Potfest, following the success of Beerfest. Interestingly, he mentioned that even Willie Nelson, a famous figure associated with cannabis, had shown interest in being part of the movie. Chandrasekhar also playfully teased the possibility of other well-known celebrities linked to marijuana making surprise appearances.
Back in 2018, Chandrasekhar shared that the team had a story concept in mind for Potfest. However, he also mentioned that their immediate focus was on their next film, Super Troopers 3, as recently confirmed by Chandrasekhar himself, which will be the upcoming project for Broken Lizard.
Potfest Release Date
Fans have all been greatly anticipating the Potfest movie for a long time now.
It is also believed that if fans enjoy Super Troopers 2 massively, then all the necessary traction will be put together to make Potfest.
For now, there is no official Potfest release date confirmed. Fans all over the world will have to wait till the date is announced.

Kevin Heffernan takes on the role of director for this remarkable film. For the Beerfest 2 cast, Jay Chandrasekhar will be appearing alongside Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske. Notably, Adrienne Palicki, known for her role in The Orville, also joins this exceptional cast.
