The two pilots are also vying for the affection of Myung Fang Lone, a producer for the cybernetic singing sensation Sharon Apple. When an illegal “bio-neural” chip is implanted into the computer that generates Sharon, she becomes sentient and begins to exhibit dangerous behavior. Isamu and Guld must team up to stop Sharon before she causes any more damage.

Synopsis

Macross Plus centers on three young men who are caught up in the development of the new Variable Fighters.

Hikaru Ichijo is a former ace pilot who is now working as a test pilot for the new VF-171 Nightmare. He is haunted by his past failures and he is unsure of his future.

Roy Focker is a veteran pilot who is now working as a technical advisor for the VF-171 project. He is very experienced and also a mentor to Hikaru. He is a no-nonsense kind of guy who always tells it like it is.

Isamu Dyson is a young engineer who is the creator of the VF-171. He is brilliant and arrogant and is determined to create the perfect mecha. 

All three of them are friends, but they are also rivals. They are all driven by their own ambitions and they are all determined to be the best.

As the VF-171 project progresses, the three men find themselves caught up in a conflict that threatens the peace of the galaxy.

The setting
